Stephanie Steiner
Retired Nurse. Mother. Livestock Producer.
Strong Voice for Iowa House District 5

Family has always been at the center of Stephanie Steiner's life. As a mother of seven and grandmother of eight, she understands the challenges facing Iowa families because she lives them every day.
I'm a retired Women's Health Nurse, a married mother of 7, a grandmother of 8, and a small livestock producer in rural O'Brien County.
For decades, I cared for patients, supporting families through life's most important moments, and witnessed firsthand the challenges facing working people. I've spent my life serving others—not climbing a political ladder.
Just like many Iowa families, I've experienced the consequences of rising healthcare costs, economic uncertainty, and government policies that too often favor powerful interests over everyday people.
I know what it's like to work hard, raise a family, worry about healthcare, and be left wonder whether those in Des Moines are even listening.
That's why I'm running for Iowa House District 5—to bring real-life experience, common-sense leadership, and a strong voice for Northwest Iowa families to Des Moines.

Why I'm Running
I've spent my life caring for people, raising a family, and working in rural Iowa. I've seen firsthand the challenges families face and understand the importance of having leaders who listen.
I'm running for Iowa House District 5 because I believe government should work for everyday people—not wealthy special interests.
Strengthening Rural Healthcare
As a retired Women's Health Nurse, I've seen what happens when families can't access affordable healthcare close to home. We must protect rural healthcare services, support healthcare workers, and ensure Iowa families can get the care they need.
Supporting Rural Communities
Our small towns are the heart of Iowa. We need policies that support local businesses, family agricultural operations, good-paying jobs, and economic opportunities that help rural communities grow and thrive.
Standing Up for Working Families
Iowa families deserve leaders who understand their daily challenges. I'll fight to lower the cost of living, expand economic opportunity, and support policies that help working families succeed.
Putting Family Farmers First
Family farmers are the backbone of rural Iowa, yet too many policies favor large corporate agriculture interests over independent producers and family-owned operations.
I am deeply concerned about Iowa's water quality. Family farmers should not be blamed for problems created by a system that rewards corporate agriculture while leaving rural communities to deal with the consequences. Clean water is essential to our health, our environment, and our future.
I will fight for family farmers, stronger rural economies, and policies that protect our soil, waterways, and public health while holding corporate interests accountable.
Protecting Property Rights
Family farmers, landowners, and rural communities deserve to have their property rights respected. I oppose the abuse of eminent domain for private gain and believe government should protect Iowa landowners, not powerful special interests.
I will fight to ensure that eminent domain is used only when truly necessary for a legitimate public purpose—not to benefit private corporations at the expense of Iowa families and communities.
Investing in Public Education
Strong public schools are the foundation of strong communities. Every child deserves access to a quality education, and every teacher deserves the resources and support needed to help students succeed.
Public dollars belong in public schools. I'll work to end Iowa's private school voucher program and ensure our tax dollars support the public schools that serve the vast majority of Iowa students.
Together, we can build a stronger future for Iowa House District 5.

Let's Build Iowa's Future Together
Iowa doesn't need another career politician.
We need leaders with real-world experience nurses, teachers, farmers, workers, and parents who understand what families are actually living through.
I will bring that experience, compassion, and determination to Des Moines every single day.
It would be an honor to earn your support.
